Joe Romeo founded the highly successful Killer Music in Los Angeles. There, he was Executive Creative Director and CEO. Killer Tracks, which is the #2 library in the United States, continues to service multi-billion dollar advertising agencies. Mr. Romeo’s creativity and sales ability allowed him to be a part of a team to write and sell such highly recognizable campaigns as “Zales” The Diamond Store, “Energizer Bunny,” “Levi’s 501 Blues,” Which was recently honored as one of the best commercial campaign of the last 100 years. Mr. Romeo launched Gatorade with the theme line “Gatorade is thirst-aid,” wrote “McDonald’s Today,” “Campbell Soup”, and “Taste A Rainbow Skittles”. He has worked on everything from Cadillac to CBS with David Letterman. Killer Music became the largest commercial music production company in the world and was sold to BMG.
Included in Mr. Romeo’s success are hundreds of local advertising awards as well as numerous Clio nominations – the industry’s “Oscar” – winning the trophy for “Wheaties, what the big boys eat” and seven other awards that include clients from Hawaiian Punch to Levi’s. Mr. Romeo is an international speaker on advertising and also was a consultant for Prime Minister Berlusconi of Italy in their RAI television network where he was hired to reconfigure commercial television. While working in Milan, he created new broadcast paradigms not only for Italian Television but German and French broadcasters as well.
With SONY, he was the marketing mind behind the commercial launch of “The Dixie Chicks”. This was the first group that sold their advertising rights before they had sold 25,000 albums. DreamWorks hired Romeo to help with Toby Keith after Romeo’s success with Montgomery Gentry and his successful launching of EMI’s publishing catalogue. This catalogue included The Beatles, where Romeo licensed the first successful use of their music for commercial use.
Mr. Romeo co-founded Faith Based Media and Marketing in 2001 with a mission to bring Christian-based vertical marketing to corporate America. Corporate clients included Tyson Foods and LifeWay. He owns several companies that pursue vertical marketing platforms such as Industrial Strength Marketing, which has been creating work for Chevron. Currently, Romeo works Avis, Budget, Wyndham Hotels and Denny’s in the Gives Back program.
Joe lives in Brentwood TN where he has been married to his wife Betty for over 30 years.
